ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Disease Intervention Specialists Training Academy (DISTA) is a collaboration between the
Florida Department of Health and USF (Colleges of Public Health, Medicine & Nursing). DISTA provides an innovative multi-disciplinary
approach to educate the State of Florida’s public health and/or health care workforce. The Training Academy will provide the public health
workers with advanced and specific training needed to support professional growth.
POSITION SUMMARY:
DISTA comprises of 19
staff members from the Colleges of Public Health, Medicine and Nursing that will develop and implement academic programs for the State of
Florida’s Department of Health employees. The primary focus of this position is to assist the Academic Director with the coordination and
implementation of DISTA course development, monitoring of project, and report generation. This position will compile data for weekly,
monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the State of Florida Department of Health.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create activity
reporting forms; schedule DISTA training modules; prepare activity reports for Academic Director.
Assist Academic Director in collecting
& analyzing DISTA course development status; compiling monthly output reports for reporting to State of Florida’s Department of
Health
Assist Academic Director with tracking the progress of course development and implementation by DISTA course faculty; Provide
logistical support for DISTA Program.
Assist Academic Director in organizing and analyzing collected data before and after submission
to State of Florida’s Department of Health; Assist Academic Director in summarizing findings and creating reports for submission to State of
Florida’s Department of Health
Assist Academic Director in collecting & analyzing course application, enrollment status, and
compiling monthly output reports for reporting to State of Florida’s Department of Health.
Assist Academic Director in compiling,
analyzing, and creating monthly and quarterly reports for submission to State of Florida’s Department of Health
Assist Academic
Director with planning quarterly on-site training for regional participants
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications, Social Work, Project
Management, Public Administration, or related field and two years of community programs and/or project coordination experience; or Master’s
degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.
PREFERRED:
A Master’s degree in Public Health,
Communications, Social Work, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field. At least one year of project management, program
development, and health course development/coordination experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in
a university setting
