Job Overview
Oversees capital forecast process and maintains forecast within Adaptive budgeting tool. Prepares financial analysis and reports to support the financial functions of the Office of Financial Planning & Analysis within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Ensures that all capital project budget related activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This role works with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, AVP for Facilities Operations and AVP for Capital Projects to develop the annual fiscal year capital budget and plan. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring that management is provided with necessary data and reports to inform decisions related to capital planning.
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide monthly financial reporting and analysis of University operating and capital results flagging variances or areas of concern. In reviewing results, the individual works with various departments and with Office of the CFO to help explain variances.
The senior analyst will perform ad-hoc complex financial analyses including the development of new project and operating proformas, as necessary to support the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and other members of the senior management team. The individual will assist the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in monitoring financial trends related to both operating and capital activities.
Work Interactions
The Senior Capital Projects Analyst will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for the Office of Financial Planning & Analysis in the Office of the CFO. The Senior Financial Analyst is part of the Capital and Leases Group, which falls under the University Services Campus in the Office of the CFO. This role will work regularly with the other Senior Capital Project Analyst and the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in the University Budget Office. This role will also interact on a regular basis with other facilities and capital project team members as necessary within the Office of Planning & Facilities Management.
This position has been designated as Hybrid 1 Day. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
