Position Summary:
The Office of Undergraduate Affairs in the School of Social Ecology is a committed team of professional staff and student employees dedicated to helping our undergraduate students achieve academic and personal success. A highly-motivated, resourceful, creative individual would do well in this role. In Social Ecology Undergraduate Affairs, we provide holistic advising to each student. By interpreting and enforcing both university and school policies, we seek to empower students to make informed decisions about their education. We collaborate with students to set personal, educational, and professional goals and ensure they have the knowledge of and access to resources to achieve those goals. Ultimately, our goal is for each student to become a proactive agent in their educational journey.
The Academic Counselor of Undergraduate Student Services is an experienced, professional position within the School of Social Ecology. This position provides the full range of duties related to academic advising. The Academic Counselor will develop and deliver dynamic programs and services, including advising students in Appointments to create long and short term academic plans, problem solving, course scheduling, and performing degree and graduation checks.

$55,000.00 – $75,000.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $53,400.00 – $94,000.00 (Annual Salary)
Required:
- 3-5 years of full-time academic advising experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Knowledge of multiple majors, colleges, and schools.
- Thorough knowledge of college / school policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving.
- Abilities in problem identification, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in higher education/student affairs/counseling preferred
- Thorough knowledge of department / school / college policies, procedures, and requirements. Ability to multi-task.
