The Human Resources Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Human Resources Director coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff. Reports to the CEO and serves on the executive management team; and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues. Provides oversight to employee training and development, and is responsible for recruitment, benefit administration, compensation, employee relations and the development of HR policies and procedures. Communication skills are required outside of the work group to facilitate work groups, resolve conflict, persuade or negotiate. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Baltimore Medical System Core Values, policies/ procedures and applicable civil laws. Is accountable for efficient use of resources and support of the BMS mission.
Education:
Masters degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or closely related field.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
SPHR, SHRM-SCP or CEBS
Experience:
Ten years of HR Generalist experience, five of which must have been at a management level. Five years director level, highly preferred.
Healthcare experience is highly preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises management and line staff.
Supervision received from:
Receives direct supervision from the CEO.
