Job Description:
The Civil Engineering Program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position specializing in structural engineering/civil engineering materials science beginning in the fall semester of 2024, with ongoing teaching assignments two terms each year. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach in structural engineering and to additionally teach in one or more of the other areas of civil engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to teach across a broad range of civil engineering and basic engineering mechanics courses, and/or possess other specialties in civil engineering. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential for: outstanding teaching/advising, ongoing college service, and professional development; developing undergraduate courses; and working with industry and undergraduate students in applied research. Graduates of the ASCE ExCEEd Teaching Workshop are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, and should have a record of successful undergraduate teaching. Registration as a professional engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain a license as a professional engineer is highly desired.
