Description of Position
Specialist, SBDC Analyst
Hiring Range: $46,438 – $53,000
This is a 1 year full time temporary funding with anticipation of an extension of two quarters.
This position has the potential to work from the Prescott or Verde area Campus’s/Centers.
Reporting to the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Director, meets with small business owners and prospective owners who are Small Business Development Center clients; uses interview and counseling techniques to gather information about business operations; conducts independent research to supplement information gathered directly from SBDC clients; analyzes information gathered to formulate specific recommendations which would enhance the success of client’s businesses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
* Small business management practices/principles
* Business bookkeeping principles
* Assistance with access to capital
* Creating marketing plans
* Development and analysis of business plans and financial statements
* Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Computer accounting software (QuickBooks and/or other)
Demonstrated ability to:
* Coach or advise small business owners and managers
* Understand complex business challenges
* Effectively counsel a culturally and economically diverse client base
* Work independently with minimal direct supervision and to complete assigned tasks
* Work cooperatively with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds
* Establish good community relations
* Speak and write effectively; communicate with small business owners and small business service providers in public and private sectors as well as with civic leaders in multiple settings
