Woodbury University Looking for Residence Life Coordinator Full Time

Woodbury University invites applications for the position of Residence Life Coordinator. The Residence Life
Coordinator (RLC) is responsible for the welfare and development of students in Residence Life by supporting students’ personal
growth, academic achievement and encouraging respect for the rights of others. The RLC will foster individual and community development by
advising both individuals and groups, by supervising and training staff, and by participating in the life of the university.

The RLC
will report to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and be in an integral part of the administrative functions of the
department. The RLC is a fulltime, 12-month live-in position and is provided a one-bedroom apartment in a residence hall with a
full meal plan when food is available on campus.

This position qualifies for university sponsored employee benefit plans and
programs (e.g., group health insurance, life insurance, tax deferred annuity plan, annual vacation, sick, and paid holidays), subject to
eligibility requirements and conditions of each plan and program.

Salary/Hourly Range: $66,560 – $68,587 (commensurate with
experience & qualifications)

Responsibilities

Community Development

• Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of belonging that enables students to build positive
  relationships with one another and encourages an understanding of the value of diversity.
• Foster a sense of belonging by overseeing
  a vibrant and engaging community of 224 residential students.
• Support the Dean of Students with implementing Woodbury University
  and Office of Residence Life objectives, policies, rules, and procedures by serving as a conduct hearing officer.
• Provide programs
  and other proactive educational interventions to enhance good decision-making by residents.
• Participate in housing/campus crisis
  and incident protocols and follow-up procedures.
• Participate in an on-call duty rotation serving as a primary responder and assist
  with crisis management, intervention, and emergency response.
• Work closely with campus partners to ensure safety, facilities, and
  services meet the expectations of a student-centered residential experience.

Supervision

• Supervise and train resident assistants in policies & procedures, student conduct and mediation, para-professional counseling,
  utilization and referral of campus resources, and departmental operations.
• Provide on-going support and direction for student staff
  through weekly staff meetings, one-on-one conversations, and informal interactions to engage in ongoing development.
• Participate in
  the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation processes for student staff.
• Ensure student staff members are appropriately
  confronting, documenting and addressing (when appropriate) behavioral issues and concerns.
• Provide regular formal and informal
  feedback regarding job performance; including managing conflict effectively among staff, student residents, and colleagues.
• Ensure
  that Resident Assistants follow residence life duty procedures and address concerns accordingly.

Administrative

• Manage operational software platforms to include key inventory, room assignments, and
  conduct.
• Maintain accurate account of hall keys through routine key audits, ordering and replacing new keys, also maintain the
  master key for the residence hall and assist in the coordination of room assignments.
• Manually process all new housing application
  inquiries received.
• Manually process all PayPal payments received.
• Manage the assignment and waitlist process for the
  residence halls.
• Process all student assignment room selection and meal plan selection.
• Complete and turn in all necessary
  room assignment paperwork.
• Manage housing selection and administer student check-in, checkout, and room changes.
• Maintain
  key control and room condition reports following departmental policy.
• Assist with room condition reports and damage billing
  processes.
• Manage budgets for residence hall programming and student staff development.

Other related
duties

• Coordinate and Facilitate meetings with Maintenance and Housekeeping to ensure cleanliness and operation of the
  residence hall.
• Other duties may be assigned.

This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA)
based on the job functions:

• A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is an individual, who by
  virtue of their university responsibilities and under the Clery Act, is designated to receive and report criminal incidents to the
  Department of Public Safety so that they may be included and published in the university’s Annual Security Report.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The following are the minimum qualifications required for the
position.

• Bachelors’ degree and/or equivalent with 1-year experience in educational administration, teaching, residence life,
  counseling, social work or psychology, or experience working with young people in some other capacity; or an equivalent combination of
  education and experience is required. A Master’s degree and progressive leadership experience in Residential Life is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience developing and maintaining
  a highly functioning team.
• Demonstrated success implementing programs that promote student retention.
• Experience managing
  multiple priorities and making sound decisions in a dynamic higher education environment.
• Professionalism in handling a wide range

• Capacity to work independently on multiple projects and to prioritize appropriately.

• Living on
  Campus is a condition of employment, under IRC Section 119, housing is provided for the convenience of the employer and condition of
  employment; therefore, it is considered non-taxable income. The housing cost paid by employer is $24,000. The meal plan per semester paid by
  employer is $2,700.
