General Statement of Duties: Westfield State University (Westfield, MA) invites applications for a one-year nontenure-track professor position in Professional Writing and Composition. Experience teaching both Professional Writing and Composition courses is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach first-year composition is required. Teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours per semester).
Our writing concentration aims to build students’ rhetorical flexibility. by taking essential courses in professional writing, in particular Grant Writing and Career Preparation for Writers. This position also supports the department’s ongoing goal of providing excellent writing instruction to non-majors, as well as majors, through composition and Professional Writing.

Salary:
For the majority of new employees, the minimum starting salary will apply. Specific salary for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining and state policies and procedures.
