This position is on site at our Cullowhee (or Biltmore) campus.
The Department of Social Work in collaboration with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians invites applications for two Support Star positions. This position was created following the award of a 2-year grant from the National Institutes of Health. The Support Stars, in collaboration with project’s Co-Principal Investigators, will host Community Informational Sessions on advance care planning and facilitate one-on-one “Sharing Sessions” with community members about advance care planning.
This is a non-benefit eligible hourly position at $27/hour to fulfill grant related activities with a start date of December 1, 2021.
Tasks –
Assist with other project tasks, such as fielding telephone calls from community. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
Cultural humility and understanding/prior experience of working with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, strong communication skills, group leadership skills, public speaking skills, general motivational interviewing skills, experience with advance care planning, quick learner, ability to work independently, attention to details, self-initiator, comfortable using computer or tablets for various tasks, team-player. .
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field.
