West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Senior Database & Systems Administrator with the WV Clinical & Translational Science Institute.
About the Opportunity
As a Senior Database & Systems Administrator, you will provide the WVCTSI research team with high level support related to the collection and reporting of clinical data for the purposes of supporting research. In addition, you will be responsible for the creation of databases, Linux servers, and providing tuning and monitoring databases and Linux servers. You will perform the process of database security in compliance with the company’s policy, provide physical model recommendations and provide escalation support for the production databases and servers. You will work in coordination with developers to meet the needs and specifications of the project and document all the procedures in a concise manner.
The successful candidate should be well conversant in Oracle RDBMS, MySql RDBMS and Linux administration. Experience in an operations environment and experience in supporting live production systems. The successful candidate shall possess knowledge of tracking and analyzing performance and resource utilization of the assigned systems, and shall have experience in recommending changes, upgrades, and enhancements based on the technical analysis.
This position allows for flexibility in work location, including potential hybrid or remote work / work from home options. Travel to the WVU Campus may need to occur based on organizational needs throughout the year.
