The Department of Biological Sciences at Mission College is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track instructor with expertise in cell and molecular biology who shares our excitement for teaching and our commitment to excellence in the lower division education of both majors and non-majors. We are looking for someone with a willingness to help our department grow and who will enjoy working with our diverse student body.
Mission College, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is seeking a dynamic faculty leader who thrives in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Assignment:
This is a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty position that begins in Fall 2024. Instructional assignments may include day and/or evening classes, Monday through Saturday, as needed and rotate among the Biological Sciences faculty. Assignments include courses in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetics, and General Biology. It is expected that over several semesters, all levels of Biological Sciences offered at the college will be taught. This position is represented by the West Valley-Mission Federation of Teachers (WVMFT / AFT Local 6554).

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s in any biological science;
OR
Bachelor’s in any biological science
AND
Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science;
OR
A valid California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Biological Sciences;
OR the equivalent;
AND
Understanding of, and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
