Job Summary:
The Department of Nursing at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) invites
applications for the position of Instructor/ Assistant Professor of Nursing. This nine-month appointment involves teaching undergraduate
nursing courses, both theory and clinical, commensurate with expertise and education. The opportunity for other faculty roles and
responsibilities are also provided.
Work Performed:
Teach undergraduate nursing courses, both
theory and clinical.
Utilize the online learning management system, WTClass, for which training is provided.
Advise students currently in the undergraduate nursing program.
Serve on departmental committees and University
committees (if elected).
Attend monthly Faculty/Staff Organization Committee meetings.
Demonstrate
productivity in scholarly activity, if hired in a tenure-track position, for which a doctoral degree is required.
Other
duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Nursing is
required for an instructor position. Candidates obtaining a Master’s degree in Nursing by August 2022 or December 2022 will be
considered.
A current unencumbered license, or eligibility for license, to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of
Texas.
The ability to instruct students in a variety of courses in various clinical situations.
The
ability to develop teaching materials.
The ability to work effectively as a member of the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field. If the doctorate is in a
related field, a Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
Experience in teaching in baccalaureate and/or
Master’s degree programs in nursing.
