Position Details:
Summary of Duties: This position will perform professional level work in support of research activities. The incumbent will perform a wide range of duties involved in maintaining and producing data in a wildlife genetics laboratory. This position will perform complex investigative procedures, including DNA extraction, conventional and quantitative PCR, data processing and analysis. They will apply research protocols as well as modify extraction procedures from various sources (e.g, scat, soil, tissue, blood, water) to accomplish research goals, collect and analyze data using genetic software, and assist in preparing manuscripts for journals and presentations for conferences. Duties also include ordering, inventory, maintaining equipment, collecting and processing samples, and training students. The incumbent will lead the activities of hourly workers and will work with other technical staff and scientists to achieve project goals.

Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 – $5,397.56
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. This is a temporary position.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on July 31, 2024. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
