Summary of Duties
As a member of the President’s staff, the Vice President for Government Relations and Chief Legislative Officer provides executive level oversight and leadership in WSU strategy and communications with local, state, and federal officials and agencies. This position also engages constituents at the regional, state, and federal level to advance the University’s public policy goals. Duties include planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing the University-wide strategic plan with regards to federal and state legislative affairs and needs of external stakeholders as they relate to government relations.

The location for this position is flexible. The ideal candidate can work from anywhere in Washington, but frequent travel to Seattle, Olympia, and campus and extension locations will be expected as part of meetings with various constituents and stakeholders.

$20,833.33/month – $27,083.33/month
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU’s Administrative Professional Compensation.
