Position Details:
Summary of Duties: The incumbent conducts analyses to design, develop, maintain, and implement highly visible system-wide strategic and operational projects. Serves as a resource to all WSU units as well as members of the Modernization team for all things related to Workday reporting. Incumbent must apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations. The incumbent will apply knowledge, expertise, and skill to translate and explain complex nuances to all of WSU to ensure correct interpretation of data. Is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving significant reporting issues that have system-wide impact. Proactively identifies reporting opportunities and needs, following state and university policies and regulations. Incumbent will utilize a customer-focused approach and business data knowledge to provide business data solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years professional experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. Related degrees include Finance, Accounting, or other Business fields.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels.
Demonstrated sensitivity to, and desire to promote, diversity.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.
A record showing commitment to customer service and the application of appropriate flexibility in response to issues and opposing points of view.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with relational databases, SQL knowledge, and object-oriented design.
Experience with report development (designing, coding, testing, optimizing) for complex reports
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, etc
Experience with system-wide business processes in Finance, Procurement, Time and Attendance, HR, Payroll, Grants, Benefits, Budget, and others.
Experience with statistical analysis and reporting on Financial, HR, Procurement, Grants, or Payroll data
Technical experience with Workday, including Workday reporting tools (Report Writer, PRISM, Dashboards, Adaptive Planning, Discovery Boards, OfficeConnect)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and design user-friendly reports, dashboards, and visualizations for all audience levels.

Full Position Salary Range:

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
