JOB SUMMARY
Within the ITS TECH organization, Enterprise Computing and Cloud Services (ECCS) is a global team leading Sanofi into the next generation of datacenter and cloud computing. Within ECCS, the Infrastructure as a Service team is responsible for server and virtualization technologies in our public cloud, private cloud, and traditional IT environment (NGDC, Regional Data Centers, and local sites).
To expand and strengthen the team we are looking for a virtualization engineer expert based in Bridgewater, NJ. The candidate must have a very high degree of technical expertise with enterprise virtualization technologies and cloud computing, including the ability to perform detailed design, analysis and troubleshooting on virtualization platforms. This candidate must possess a very strong background and understanding in virtualization and surrounding technologies such as server, storage, and networking.
The primary responsibilities of this expert include:
Facilitate move to cloud with strong expertise in modern cloud technologies.
Provide technology expertise to design and build Sanofi’s global computing infrastructure.
Investigate, architect, design and recommend solutions that leverage Sanofi standards.
Ensure and maintain the robustness (availability, reliability, efficiency, performance) of virtualization services around the globe and identifies/communicates opportunities to improve/increase services delivered.
Subject Matter expert in server virtualization technologies on a global basis.
Point of contact for support teams, business partners, and local operations experts for any virtualization-related matter.
Work to achieve common goals within ITS TECH, managing close relationships with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with mutually-agreed objectives.
Develop and ensure compliance with all enterprise corporate standards relevant to compute technologies.
Take ownership for the development of effective and optimized solutions and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure delivery of a complete operational service contributing value to the business.
Responsible for the planning, design, implementation and proper documentation of solutions.
Ensure that virtualization services are delivered in a consistent and quality compliant manner, aligned with established processes, methodologies and best practices.
Provide technical expertise and leadership to operational support teams.
Project management of multiple small-to-large projects in a complex global environment.
Strong collaboration with the global team.
Knowledge And Skills (Essential):
Previous experience in architecture, design & implementation of aroeFW related projects
Proven communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and experiences in a networked organizational environment
In-depth understanding of virtualization technologies and related components
Strong expertise and knowledge of modern cloud computing technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other public cloud providers
Significant knowledge of but not limited to: VMware, HCI, virtualization, networking protocols and communications.
Working knowledge of but not limited: Servers, Storage, Networking, and Communication Protocols.
Knowledge of Windows Server & RedHat Linux connectivity.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and integrate them into a distributed environment. Ability to work in a global team environment.
Proven leadership skills – project and people management – in large, matured technological enterprise.
Proven ability to assist in large, complex and diverse services and personnel, including successful global project implementation support.
Subject matter expert in Virtualization Engineering. Technical background and understanding of related technologies including Server design, Server standards and Service Design and Delivery.
Collaborative team member with strong interpersonal skills to interact with business stakeholders, management, and other team members
Strong verbal and written communication skills required including presentation skills
Self-motivated with an ability to successfully prioritize tasks and work independently
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to coordinate and assemble clear documentation for IT and non-IT audiences
International cultural awareness, respect for diversity and ability to effectively work in a global, multi-national matrix organization
Formal Education And Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
10+ Years direct, progressive hands-on virtualization engineering experience with at least 5 years in a large global environment.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Briefly describe the major duties and responsibilities for which the job is held accountable (what the job does, why is it done/impact)
1. Subject matter expert for virtualization technologies globally.
2. Investigate, design, recommend, and implement solutions to drive Sanofi strategy.
3. Provide technical expertise and leadership to operational support teams globally to ensure operational excellence of our virtualization infrastructure.

Execute our public cloud strategy
Facilitate the public cloud migration strategy. Execute our service transformation by leveraging cloud technologies and moving to cloud.
Execute our private cloud strategy
Transform our on-premise datacenters with private cloud environment.
Optimize our traditional IT environment
Enhance our global on-premise datacenter environment with new technologies. Remove legacy software and hardware to modernize the infrastructure and ease the support burden.

Interface with ITS business partners and infrastructure partners to design the best possible infrastructure to meet business needs.
