Summary of Responsibilities:
The successful applicant for this position will join our POWERTRAIN & High Voltage integration team to work on various customer projects.
The role also leads bring up and troubleshooting of product issues throughout the life-cycle; leads associated test verification and validation activities at the component and board levels, including development of testing equipment and execution of test cases.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated, well versed in the state-of-the art, and capable of driving design and execution through all development stages.
Our Engineering Research and Development team (ER&D) is a fast-growing function that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers.
The POWERTRAIN & High Voltage team within ER&D is responsible for hardware and software that delivers the POWERTRAIN Battery & High voltage components
A position within the POWERTRAIN & High Voltage team requires a highly motivated and hands on team player with exceptional attention to detail, pro-activeness, diligence, a positive attitude and the ability to communicate well. Our customers expect high standards and we require staff capable of meeting such demands.
Compensation: $50 a hour for an independent contractor
Essential Job Function:
Working directly with the customer POWERTRAIN & High Voltage integration team
and internal TTL engineers to understand current Integration & test requirements.
Travel to customer vehicle test locations around the world over the next 18 months
in short notice to support EE troubleshooting and ensure smooth test progress
Ability to read/understand ECU schematic, identify HW-SW integration issues Work
with system experts to understand system requirements and features to ensure
coverage of testing meets expectations.
Experience in vehicle testing and vehicle integration at overall system level.
Reporting of issues and status of testing observed on vehicle with first-level test data
and test sequence.
Strong understanding of electronic ECU’s used in BEV battery electric vehicle and
vehicle subsystems Discuss knowledge gaps and system requirements with system
experts to enable thorough test coverage.
Development of test scripts and software panels to enable repeatable and efficient
testing of regular software drops.
Support setup, commissioning and refinement of test system(s) and test automation.
Familiarity with microprocessor-based controls and development tools (emulators,
debuggers, etc.)
Perform testing of the HV system in a small rig / bench. Acceptance testing on
software / system delivered and tested by suppliers.
Automation script design skills in Matlab/{python/C
Experience in simulation/virtual methodologies and/or tools.
Qualifications:
Essential
Electrical, electronic, control systems or automotive engineering degree 2:1 or above
or equivalent qualification or experience.
Previous experience of manual and automated test execution and development.
Familiarity with typical software and test development processes.
Familiarity with requirements capture and requirement tool-sets to generate test
cases to validate requirements.
Minimum of 2 plus years with ETAS INCA / Vector CAN ape Tool experience or
equivalent data acquisition experience
Knowledge of automotive networks such as CAN, FlexRay, LIN, A2B, MOST etc.
Experience of DSPACE or NI HiL hardware and software.
Experience within the area of Requirements Modeling and Model Based System
Engineering
Excellent analytical skills and RCA., Root Cause Analysis, virtual analysis tools
Should have good knowledge and trained in ISO 26262.
Experience in AUTOSAR Basic Software configuration.
Desirable
Prior experience in automotive system development andor validation would be
beneficial.
Experience of HiL test configuration and automation tools such as Control Desk,
Automation Desk, vTESTstudio, LabVIEW or TestStand would be beneficial.
Strong interest in automotive control system development including diagnostic and
functional safety aspects.
