Vancouver Island University (VIU) offers two programs in Resource
Management and Protection: a two-year technical Diploma in Resource Management Officer Technology (RMOT) and a Bachelor in Natural Resource
Protection. Following graduation, students are prepared for work in a field relating to the protection and/or management of wildlife,
fisheries, and environmental resources, or to pursue post-graduate studies.
The Resource Management department seeks qualified
applicants for the role of Instructor.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of teaching Introduction to Parks
and Protected areas (RMOT 102) — a required course in the Resource Management Officer Technology diploma. The RMOT diploma focuses on fish,
wildlife, parks, and natural resource law enforcement. For further information, please see the Department of Resource Management and

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and
institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student
support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their
disciplines in and outside the institution.
