The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Valparaiso University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Electrical Engineering at the Assistant Professor level with a starting date of August (Fall) 2024.
Located one hour southeast of Chicago on a 310-acre campus, Valparaiso University (Valpo) is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of over 3,100 undergraduate and graduate students. Valpo is consistently recognized as one of the best private universities in the Midwest and is located in Valparaiso, Indiana, a county seat of 30,000 residents with high quality schools and an active social community.
The undergraduate-only department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers ABET-accredited BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The College of Engineering at Valpo is currently ranked tied for 14th in (non-doctoral) Engineering Programs in the 2022-2023 U.S. News and world report Rankings.
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching undergraduate students, developing courses and labs that enhance the Electrical and Computer Engineering programs, and pursuing scholarly activities in their field. They will also be able to interact and effectively communicate with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will teach required and elective courses in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering, capstone design, and general engineering courses, plus be actively engaged in research and campus citizenship activities. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
