Job Summary: As the Senior Accountant, you have a pivotal role in the financial reporting process and management of the general ledgers, fixed assets and regulatory filings. You will also provide support and serve as a resource for other team members, both within Finance and elsewhere within the company, to help them accomplish their roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely reports to management.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, review journal entries, and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Fixed Assets: Maintain records and update for business transactions.
Inventory Control: Collaborate with inventory management teams to compute results of the physical counts, maintain accurate records, and reconcile inventory-related accounts.
Regulatory Filings: Complete periodic regulatory filings including local, state and federal business taxes and licenses.
Compliance and Audit: Facilitate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any identified issues.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and automation.
Team Membership: Provide support and be a resource to team members in the payable, receivable and general ledger functions.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices, coupled with the ability to learn new concepts and put those into practice.
Experienced, knowledgeable and comfortable with business software tools and applications such as office applications (Excel, Word) and ERP packages (such as MS Dynamics or NetSuite).
Self-motivated and able to learn new concepts quickly and put those into practice.
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills with ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting and finance.
