Job Summary
UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring for Accounting Supervisor
Manages the Business Office operations and staff. Ensures transactions conform to department and UTSW policies. Responsible for reviewing transactions, documentation to approve procurement, travel and accounts payable forms entered in PeopleSoft. Manages the department’s one card transactions and reconciliation. Also, responsible for management of department book fund, start-up and trainees research projects funding, endowment, gifts, state tax, Grant and Contracts, and clinical trials funds. Work with Department Administrator on financial analyses and reports; key support role in the annual department budget. Provide analytical support to department leadership. Design and implement periodic operational reports as well as ad hoc reporting. Identify areas of financial risk, present findings, and make recommendations to management and faculty. Ensure monitoring and reconciliation of all Chart of Accounts, ensure all exceptions are addressed and resolved timely. Review department payroll reports and ensure exceptions are addressed and resolved. Update policies and procedures, as needed, for these functions. Responsible for timely review and vetting of the faculty evaluation tool for incentive calculation. Review faculty and classified salary sourcing to provide analytical support for daily operations and budget. Responsible for various parts of the annual department budget creation and submission in Hyperion. Work closely with department stakeholders to collect required information; consolidate, and present to Pathology leadership. Works closely with the Education Office trainee programs (residency, fellowship, and medical student programs) budget and projection. New faculty and Trainee Onboarding – Informs and advices new faculty of department financial structure specifically related their individual budgets and allocations. Designs and executes system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
