The incumbent of this position will serve as a senior member of the Bureau’s Network Infrastructure Team for the Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN). The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform work related to cybersecurity operations and the planning and coordination of complex work within a LAN/WAN-based client-server computing environment. As such, duties may include but are not limited to the following:
(1) building, deploying, and administering firewall and network security appliances at National and regional offices;
(2) building, deploying, and administering Virtual Private Network (VPN)/remote access and network infrastructure platforms and associated operating systems software and utilities;
(3) building deploying, testing, managing and administering Enterprise Wireless, Load Balancer appliances and Web content filtering systems;
(4) participating in feasibility studies, research, prototyping, and testing, in support of various continuing and new initiatives of the organization;
(5) consultation and documentation for configuration and platform-integrity issues such as maintaining Continuity Of Operations (COOP) network, disaster recovery plans, and policies for access security.
