student employees, and 100,000 square feet of facilities and operations.

Annual rate: $65,520 – $75,000
General Statement:
The Assistant Director of the Cross Cultural Centers (CCC) will assist in the daily
administration and supervision of the department and its four resource centers – Asian Pacific Islander Student Resource Center,
Chicana/o Latina/o Student Resource Center, Pan African Student Resource Center, and Gender and Sexuality Resource Center. The Assistant
Director will also be responsible for the implementation, evaluation, and assessment of CCC programs, events, resources, and services;
leadership development for CCC staff and affiliated student organizations; integration of academic success and identity initiatives; and
special projects as assigned. The Assistant Director will also have direct responsibility to coordinate all programs and staffing of the
Chicana/o Latina/o Student Resource Center.
Responsible To: Director, Cross Cultural Centers
Qualifications:
Master’s degree required in higher education/student affairs, ethnic or cultural
studies, psychology, or another related field.
Two to five years of professional experience in cross cultural and social
justice higher education settings required; graduate assistant or student assistant work experience in a cross cultural/gender & sexuality
center considered.
Cultural competency and awareness of the concerns, pressures, and inequities of women, people of
color, undocumented communities, queer and gender-fluid communities, and other marginalized student groups are required.
Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of student development, higher education, identity development, social justice,
intersectionality, inclusion, and equity are required.
Well-versed in current issues and practice related to ethnicity,
race, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship status, class, and other significant aspects of identity required.
Organization and coordination skills required.
Knowledge of and skill in budgeting, fiscal management, and reporting
required.
Oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to motivate and work closely with
students, student organizations, and professional peers required.
Social media, public relations, and promotion skills are
preferred.
Computer and technology skills preferred.
Experience in training, advocacy, and development
preferred.
Essential Duties:
Provide direct coordination of the Chicana/o Latina/o
Student Resource Center, its programs, and supervision of its student staff and planning efforts.
Provide management and
guidance for social media, marketing, and promotions.
Provide overall leadership in the daily administration of the CCC
and supervision of 1 – 2 resource centers and their teams.
Supervise 1 -2 professional staff, and provide guidance and
support to their program/resource center teams, programs, and ideas.
Develop programs, prepare contracts, communicate
with speakers and performers, schedule venues and audio/visual equipment, prepare graphics requests, and develop publicity strategies for
events.
Develop and implement culturally relevant initiatives to support retention and academic success.
Develop leadership opportunities, retreats, and workshops on equity, inclusion, and student success.
Collaborate with
faculty, staff, and students across campus to develop programs, events, and services that bridge in-class and out-of-class learning
experiences.
Prepare annual programming and services reports, including outcomes assessment, and evaluation tools and
data.
Monitor budgets for specific programs and services, including student program budgets.
Attend
daytime, evening, and weekend events to ensure successful implementation of programs.
Provide informal
advising and direct assistance to culturally focused student organizations affiliated with the CCC.
Participate in the
resource center, University-Student Union, and University meetings as needed.
Develop working relationships with social
justice, cultural, and gender/sexuality-focused community organizations.
Coordinate planning processes for the Cultural
Graduate Celebrations sponsored by CCC.
Facilitate diversity, equity, and anti-oppression professional development for
CCC, U-SU, and University departments, offices, and student organizations as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
