INTRODUCTION:
APPLICATION REVIEW SPECIALIST
Internal notes in margin: The Admission Office invites applications for the position of Application Review Specialist. As a member of the Admissions Team this position responsibilities include Downloading and importing electronic applications. Processing international student applications. Editing applications for missing or incomplete information. Examining and evaluating international and ESL applications including transcripts, test scores, and other documentation. Process Re-entry student applications.
ABOUT THE JOB: Application Review Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required
- Working knowledge of desktop and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email) in a windows environment is expected to include the Internet.
- Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of administrative office work experience OR an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion
- Ability to evaluate and make independent decisions.
Highly Desired
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent judgement including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Evidence of customer service skills and ability to prioritize and organize a variety of activities and projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of student information systems (preferably PeopleSoft) and Imaging Systems (preferably Perceptive Software) and willingness to learn new technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Processing incoming international student applications (regular and ESL).
Download and import electronic applications into student information system.
Process incoming applications.
Process incoming R-entry student applications.
Process special applications.
Advise students, parents, and university personnel regarding residency statutes.
Process, print, and mail applicant letters.
Process major changes.
Process transcripts as needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The hourly rate for this position is based on experience and available budget. A six-month probationary period is required. The UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan.
