Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Professional Development Programs, the program director will develop and deliver short courses and certificates in Electrical Engineering focused on electric power, electric utilities, renewable energy, and power engineering.
The program director will be expected to seek out innovative ways to provide continuing education; conduct programs that are financially self-supporting; and develop and maintain relationships with other university departments and various outside associations for the purpose of advancing knowledge and developing content.
Expected activities include recruiting and communicating with prospective students, identifying student needs, developing instructional materials, teaching, arranging for faculty and instructors, assessing course evaluation results, and maintaining financially self-supporting budgets. Maintain long running courses and developing and launching new courses, certificates, and digital badges. Program directors must be self-disciplined, motivated, and able to work independently with limited oversight.

Bachelor’s Degree
Electrical engineering or related area required
Preferred
Master’s Degree
Qualifications:
5 years experience in a technical or engineering management role responsible for leading electric power system projects required. The applicant must have professional knowledge of and experience with the latest industry practices of electrical engineering, power engineering, and electric power systems.
Candidates with demonstrated skills in the following areas preferred: planning, designing, implementing, or managing electric power system projects
1-2 years experience in designing, implementing, and providing teaching or training for practicing professionals preferred
Experience with online learning tools and software, such as Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and/or Webex preferred

Will consider candidates interested in full or part-time; minimum salary is based on 100% FTE and will be prorated at a lower FTE.
