Job Summary:
The Program Director position in the Construction and Materials Support Center (CMSC) reports to Prof. Awad Hanna, Director of the Construction Engineering and Management program in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The position is responsible for working in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to identify problem areas and issues for WisDOT and then developing research methodologies to address those issues. The position is responsible for developing work statements, contract documents and cost estimates for projects, providing technical support to undergraduate and graduate students conducting the research and developing summary reports and technical papers detailing the results. The position chairs the CMSC Steering Committee, attends meetings with WisDOT staff and other external partners and participates on university, research, and industry committees to provide a WisDOT and academic perspective.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates management of multiple related projects and/or ongoing operations, which are directed toward a common objective. Monitors the cost, schedule, and performance of component projects and operations while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program.

B.S. in Civil Engineering required

Master’s Degree
M.S. in Civil Engineering preferred.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with/for Wisconsin Department of Transportation
* Experience with highway and airport construction projects
* Experience with highway materials engineering
* Experience in construction engineering and management
* Experience with highway project management and engineering
* Experience in transportation policy development
* Experience in developing and applying transportation construction specifications
* Experience in conducting research into highway related topics
