The University of Virginia’s Graduate Programs Office is seeking a Student Services Generalist to serve as a member of our Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) Administrator Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support and coordinating student processes from the time students apply until they earn their degrees.
Individuals who enjoy interacting with students and faculty, can work well independently and as part of a team, and can effectively multitask are encouraged to apply. The qualified candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to prioritize tasks and organize time efficiently; the ability to manage interactions with staff, students, and faculty; the ability to resolve problems in creative and timely manner and to work independently.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in advanced academic program and fiscal coordination, and/or support in an area such as admissions, student records, and/or training grant administration. Significant experience working with students at the post-secondary level as well as experience working within a diverse community is preferred.
