The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a full-time Senior Project Management Associate to join the Virginia Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) project. The Senior Project Management Associate will use their project management experience to implement and monitor adherence to project management plans, provide guidance and support to project staff, and act as a flexible resource to support areas of the project as capacity needs require. Our team is looking for someone that has project coordination or management experience, excels at communicating with a diverse group of stakeholders, and can understand the many moving parts of a project. Experience in education is not required. This is a remote optional position with rare on-site (UVA/Charlottesville and other Virginia localities) work requirements for meetings or presentations. If local to Charlottesville, office space may be provided (if preferred).
The goals of the ECMHC project are to promote the social-emotional development of children birth-5 and prevent suspension and expulsion from early childhood programs across Virginia. To achieve these goals, mental health consultants partner with early childhood programs and teachers to provide collaborative, one-on-one consultation around identified needs at the program/site, classroom, and/or child level. We are expanding access to ECMHC services thanks to support from the Virginia Department of Education. In 2023-2024 (our third pilot year), our team will provide in-person/hybrid services in two large regions of the state and virtual services statewide.
As part of the ECMHC team, you will provide day-to-day project management support to a collaborative team of mental health consultants, researchers, subject matter experts, and other staff on a fast-paced project with colleagues across the Commonwealth of Virginia and the country.

Coordinate the planning and writing of reports and performance updates for funders and other stakeholders
Communicate effectively with project faculty, staff, and external partners (VDOE, Ready Region teams, Coaching Partners) in written and spoken forms
