The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, a division of the University of Virginia located in Wise, Virginia, invites applications for an Instructor position (non-tenure track) in Anatomy/Physiology. The position is a full-time, 9-month commitment at the Instructor level and with the potential for summer teaching. Duties include teaching a two-semester sequence of anatomy/physiology lecture and lab; serving the department and college on various committees; advising and mentoring students, particularly in pre-health areas; and assisting the department chair with assessment and other duties as needed. Time permitting, the successful candidate might also assist with the introductory lecture/lab sequence and/or develop upper-level courses in the applicant’s field of expertise in support of pre-health majors.
Successful candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; should have the demonstrated ability for engaged and innovative teaching at the undergraduate level; must have a Master’s degree in Anatomy/Physiology or closely related field (PhD preferred. ABD candidates will be considered).
