The Perinatal (OB) Sonographer 3 functions as a mid-level healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a physician extender. The role and responsibilities extend beyond those of the staff sonographer and are focused on providing advanced clinical sonography services. The Advanced Sonographer’s functions are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility, protocols, policies, and procedures, and applicable professional standards.

Position Compensation Range: $33.94 – $54.30 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree required within 5 years. A degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.Experience: Five years as a registered OB sonographer with experience scanning high-risk obstetric patients.License/Certification: Credentials from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN from ARDMS required. Nuchal Translucency certification required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids, and disease.
