Posting Summary
Provide technical assistance for a Molecular Physiology and Biophysics laboratory studying the molecular basis of cardiac and skeletal muscle contraction. Isolate proteins from cells and tissue samples using mechano-chemical extraction techniques and gel electrophoresis. Run and maintain a high-pressure liquid chromatography system coupled to a mass spectrometer and analyze mass spectrometry data. Purchase laboratory chemicals and equipment, reconcile monthly billing statements and assist the lab in stock solution preparations.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related science and one year of related experience in an analytical laboratory required.
Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience using a high pressure liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMS) system highly desirable. Ability to work independently highly desirable.

Six-month probationary period is required.
