Video Content Producer

Posting Summary:
Responsible for ensuring high quality, creative, and compelling videos that bring stories to life for key audiences, amplifying excellence in research, student success, the university’s land grant mission. Illustrate university programs and people across digital channels such as websites, social media platforms, and targeted campaigns. Generate new, creative approaches to communication initiatives through video. Present and review video concepts and storylines with UVM Studios and Strategic Communications team members as well as campus stakeholders for feedback and input. Pitch concepts, create storyboards and develop shot lists in support of short and long-form video assets. Work closely with the Art Director, and independently, to identify opportunities to enhance stories, webpages, and social media campaigns with video. Participate in the creative build out of the university brand assets. Collaborate as a team with UVM Studios Art Director and Content Director, in addition to stakeholders across campus, to identify opportunities to amplify stories and campaigns through short and long-form videos. Direct all video production including capturing video and audio footage, editing, receiving and incorporating feedback, delivering final cuts, and archiving the final and b-roll assets in PhotoShelter. Collaborate with fellow members of the UVM Studios team, and with campus partners on storyboards for video projects as well as in the editing, cutting, and distribution of channel/medium-specific versions of videos. Manage the university’s YouTube account. Gather, analyze and report on data related to video engagement for the purpose of improving work. Maintain a well-organized library of footage, filming and sharing key activities that will be used by communicators for multiple purposes in multiple units. Direct and collaborate with in-house and freelance videographers and photographers on visual storytelling efforts. Serve as a still photographer as necessary. Engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and delivering consistent, high-quality results to campus partners.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Bachelor’s degree with studies in photography, videography, or visual journalism, and four to five years related experience producing videography and photography in a professional setting. Experience in visual storytelling, composition, color, lighting, and layout. Professional portfolio that illustrates a wide variety of topics, subjects, and locations. Demonstrated post-production skills and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite required. Fluency with digital and social platforms, tools, and services. Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills required. Commitment to diversity, social justice and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Editorial photography experience and demonstrated experience producing images for marketing and working within brand guidelines desirable. Photoshelter or similar experience utilizing digital asset management platforms desirable.
