Onboarding Specialist

Posting Summary:
As a member of the Onboarding team, provide customer service and process support for the onboarding and immersion of new employees into the University of Vermont’s community. Communicate details to newly hired employees related to employee benefits, employee resources, relevant policies, compliance requirements and required trainings. Support hiring managers in UVM’s hiring processes. Determine if a background check or other pre-employment requirement is required, initiate offer letters, and process new hire actions in the HR systems.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Associate’s degree with one to three years related experience to include one year of customer service experience required. Effective written and verbal communication skills and high attention to details. Proficiency with computer software and the ability to learn new systems and software is essential. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of University students, personnel, and affiliates, and across multiple disciplines. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice issues, and fostering a collaborative, multicultural environment.
