Our diverse team of dynamic healthcare professionals and physicians at the University of Vermont Medical Center, the University of Vermont, Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine, and the University of Vermont Medical Center seeks an experienced leader to direct, grow, and innovate within the psychiatry service line. We are looking for a skilled full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level on the clinical scholar pathway to provide exceptional leadership in mental health.
In this role, you will partner with the Chief Medical Officer at the University of Vermont Medical Center and the Chair of Psychiatry in the UVM Health Network to oversee clinical services and operations for psychiatry. You will work closely with emergency department leadership, inpatient psychiatry, and psychiatric and medical inpatient services to enhance the care provided to individuals requiring psychiatric services.
As a team member, you will actively educate trainees at various levels. The Larner College of Medicine Psychiatry Service hosts medical students on clerkships and electives, sponsors a residency in psychiatry, and supports a fellowship in child psychiatry. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of medical trainees while fostering a collaborative and enriching learning environment.
Candidates must have the necessary training and expertise to provide direct patient care and excel in collaborating with other professional disciplines. We value individuals who appreciate the importance and satisfaction of fulfilling these critical functions and thrive in a collaborative environment. Leadership experience in managing teams in intensive psychiatric settings is a definite plus.
Applicants should hold a medical degree and be BC/BE in Psychiatry. Experience in intensive psychiatric settings such as inpatient, emergency, or consultation liaison is highly desirable.
