About Us
The Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre is mandated to conduct intake, accept disclosures and reports of sexual violence, and to provide support to individual members of the University community who have experienced sexual violence, including faculty, staff, and students. The Centre is the first point of contact for members of the University community who have experienced sexual violence to obtain academic support, employment, or other accommodations and services.
Your Opportunity
The Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Coordinator provides counselling to clients with a wide range of concerns stemming from their experience of being exposed to sexual violence and its impact on functioning in the post-secondary context as a student, staff, or faculty. The incumbent will also provide education and training to members of University community with respect to how to respond to disclosures of sexual violence and how to support complainants.
The Coordinator provides triage services to support and stabilize client, referrals to internal services (e.g. accessibility services, health services, housing, etc.) and to external services (e.g. financial, legal, police, hospital, etc.) for members of the entire University community in accordance with the provisions set-out in the Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy.
The SVPR Coordinator conducts screening/triage around sexual violence cases; screening urgent/crisis phone calls and walk-in visits; monitoring client flow and adherence to requests for applicable accommodations, supports or resources; case management of urgent and/or complex cases that may include situations of high risk or critical incidents in collaboration with members of the High-Risk team; developing and facilitating community referrals and referring to the University or outside community; and under the Assistant Director’s leadership, develops and delivers education and prevention workshops related to sexual violence across all three campuses.
The SVPR Coordinator provides support to clients for University of Toronto St. George campus and across all campus as required. Interested candidates are asked to submit a Cover Letter and Resume.
