Your opportunity:
Under the supervision of both the Academic Director and Executive Director of the School of Cities, the Research Officer will be responsible for overseeing the workflow of the School’s research programs; project managing our funded research teams; actively seeking grant opportunities and drafting grant submissions; and collaborating on knowledge translation of the urban research produced across the University of Toronto. Working closely with the team at the School of Cities, the Research Officer will develop and manage collaborations with researchers within the University and in the broader community of urban researchers in government and urban-focused organizations. The Research Officer will help faculty and researchers translate insights for a wide range of audiences via policy briefs, discussion papers, presentations, workshops and seminars, as well as, identify funding opportunities and write grant proposals. Additional responsibilities include building relationships to generate engagement opportunities and managing research and advisory projects.
The Research Officer will maintain an up-to-date understanding of urban-related issues and expertise in the relevant policies, practices and research literature and develop a comprehensive view of urban research being conducted across the University. Provide advice and guidance to School of Cities-supported research from a community-centred perspective, grounded in principles of community-engaged research. They will liaise with faculty, academic administrators, staff and students on the School’s research mandate, programs and initiatives.

USW Pay Band 13 — $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
