JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator the Research Associate performs a variety of research activities on the role of ion channel-coding cDNAs and the resulting expressed proteins, and the modification of ion channel protein function by physiologically relevant lipids and pharmacological agents, in particular agents involved in substance use disorders such as alcohol and volatile inhalation agents.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Ph. D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in a biochemistry/molecular biology research laboratory. Documented proficiency (i.e., first author publications) with recombinant DN, in particular with mutagenesis and expression of long DNA sequences.
