Advertised Job Summary:
The scheduling coordinator will work beneath the business manager in order to coordinate accurate scheduling of the clients of the Montgomery Speech and Hearing Clinic with the appropriate clinicians. They will process diagnostic and treatment progress reports and review and complete incoming referrals and intake forms. They will also manage First Sound patients, process payments for patient co-pays and account balances. They will process payments for patient co-pays and account balances and prepare and process weekly clinic deposits. This individual will administer scheduling sheets for faculty and student practicum per semester. These tasks will be completed in order to maintain a fully functioning and well organized clinic.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree OR high school diploma and 4 years of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with standard office software. Prefer experience with database software. Experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to plan and organize work activities effectively, to prioritize task completion according to specific deadlines and objectives. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
Job Duty:
Responsible for scheduling new patient/diagnostic appointments for speech and audiology and inputting patient information into the practice management system. Monitor and make adjustments to schedules of speech and audiology diagnostics area. Will work directly with the clinicians in order to create and maintain a smooth schedule for the Montgomery Speech Language and Hearing Clinic. As part of the clinic cochlear implant team, schedule cochlear implant activation appointments, maintain CI patient spreadsheet, and attend monthly CI team meetings.

Responsible for managing First Sound program clinic participation requirements. Receive hospital referrals and call parents to schedule evaluations and explain procedures for testing. Coordinate and ensure the accuracy of all follow-up instructions and update First Sound database with appointment status and evaluation results. These tasks will keep the Clinic’s participation in the First Sound program running smoothly and efficiently in order to best serve this patient population.
