Advertised Job Summary:
Manages the development and maintenance of curriculum coding in the degree audit system for the Undergraduate, Graduate, Medical, Law and Pharmacy Levels. Works with the Senior Associate Registrar for Educational Planning to implement and maintain new functionality in DegreeWorks; prepare for system upgrades; conduct system troubleshooting; coordinate with the Office of Student Financial Aid on the CPOS bridge; and develop DegreeWorks reports. Supports the Senior Associate Registrar for Educational Planning and the University Advisement Center and campuses in the development of training for academic advisors and students who use the degree audit system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with higher education degree audit systems, such as DegreeWorks; student information systems, such as Banner; academic advisement best practices, academic advisement coordination, reporting, data entry, computer programming, records systems, curriculum development is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent analytical skills to transform written academic requirements into computer-acknowledged arguments. Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be especially adept at understanding written materials and articulating procedures followed during advisement. Will work with confidential student information and must have appropriate mental-discipline and discretion.
Job Duty:
Curriculum Management and Curriculum
Manages the development and maintenance of curriculum coding in the degree audit system for the Undergraduate, Graduate, Medical, Law and Pharmacy Levels. At the Undergraduate Level: Works with a team of curriculum content managers in the Registrar’s Office, Academic Units, and the University Advisement Center. Reviews to ensure that curriculum information is consistent across student information systems. Tests and signs off on curriculum changes entered into DegreeWorks with authorized individuals across campus. Stays informed of best practices in higher education curriculum management and academic advisement. Provides the University Advisement Center and Academic units with guidance on how curriculum is most optimally translated into DegreeWorks. Ensures current degree audit system is operating appropriately on a day-to-day basis to include degree audit, “what if” scenarios, student educational planner, and additional reporting tools. Maintains DegreeWorks core tables and configurations. At the Graduate, Pharmacy, Law and Medical Levels: Work directly with college to ensure that graduate curriculum are coded to ensure accurate CPOS eligibility.
