The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of
Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in
the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be board certified or
board eligible in Internal Medicine.
Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the Perelman School’s outstanding
educational programs at the UME, GME or post-graduate level.
Clinical responsibilities may include Clinical responsibilities may
include direct patient care in the inpatient or outpatient setting. Selected candidates who hold a medical degree will be expected to
maintain an active clinical practice.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include building a research program in areas of
high relevance for general internal medicine, including but not limited to health services and policy research: comparative effectiveness,
health economics, behavioral economics, implementation science, health psychology, informatics, clinical or social epidemiology, medical
sociology, and disease prevention. We are particularly interested in candidates who want to address these issues through engagement with the
health system and the division’s clinical activities, to help advance the delivery of health care and population health through a learning
health care system.
Scholarship is required in the CE and Tenure tracks. Selected candidates will have published research.
