Description:
The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of health economics, mental health services, pain management, and public-academic partnerships. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching courses in the organization, financing, and delivery of mental health care. Leading the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics Associate Fellows Program for doctoral and postdoctoral fellows. Providing mentorship to undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in mental health services research.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a health services research agenda on the organization, financing and delivery of pain management, with particular attention to the role of the opioid epidemic. Leading a contract with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral health evaluating city-implemented programs and policies, and the experiences of Medicaid-enrolled Philadelphians who use behavioral health care. Particular foci include suicide prevention efforts, responses to the opioid crisis, and mental health crisis response initiatives.
