Job Description Summary
A Senior Research Investigator is needed to carry out an array of basic and advanced laboratory techniques to study the role of microglia and the immune system in brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. The work will involve cutting-edge molecular biology techniques, particularly in vivo CRISPR KO screens in mouse models aging and neurodegenerative and in iPSC derived microglia and neurons. This work will also entail advanced sequencing techniques to measure transcriptomic and epigenetic changes in vitro and in vivo, cellular function assays with live microscopy and flow cytometry and biochemical assays. Tasks will include human and mouse cell culture, DNA/RNA purification, PCR, sequencing library preparation, mouse colony maintenance, and mouse tissue harvesting. Experience in molecular techniques and cell-based assays such as flow cytometry is desired. Additional responsibilities include detailed and organized record keeping, data analysis, training and assisting graduate and undergraduate researchers, assistance in writing grants and manuscripts, presenting research results to the PI, and implementing laboratory policies and procedures.

- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
