Job Responsibilities
Lead ongoing research projects and the staff of NIH-sponsored beta-cell biology projects. Ensure the successful execution of ongoing studies, analyze the scientific results to prepare presentations and write manuscripts based on those results.
Supervise existing laboratory staff, including facilitation, documentation, analysis and communication needed for ongoing laboratory work on behalf of the Principal Investigator.
Hands on lab work in the field of beta-cell biology, including RNA analysis, cell transfections, conditional transcriptional models, islet isolation, viral transduction of islets, islets transplantation in rodent models, islet perfusion experiments and whole animal physiology.
Manuscript preparation. Collecting data for preparation of grant proposals and progress reports. Attend research meetings at local and national levels as needed.
Train and monitor progress of junior laboratory members, including graduate students and postdocs
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
