Drawing from a diverse web of roots, including practices of various Indigenous peoples of North America, Australia, and New Zealand, Restorative Practices work to promote right relationships between people in all corners of the University. In situations of interpersonal harm, RP@P can provide safe, private, supportive resources to help the harmed party access healing and support, and for the responsible party to work toward accountability and repair. RP@P also implements proactive measures to build supportive communities and strengthen our collective capacity to handle harm when it inevitably occurs. RP@P aims to institutionalize, centralize, and support RP as a core aspect of the Penn community and culture.
The Associate Director of Restorative Practices (AD) oversees the implementation of RP for healing, accountability and community building for students, staff, and faculty in collaboration with campus partners. RP@P is embedded within and works closely with the Center for Community Standards and Accountability (CSA) to support RP response in student conduct cases, and partners with the Office of the Associate Vice President for Equity and Title IX for RP cases involving Title IX violations. The RP@P Team consists of the AD, a Restorative Facilitation Lead, a Restorative Facilitation Specialist, a CSA Case Manager Liaison, and the Restorative Training and Partnership Specialist. This core team is supported by the Peer Restorative Practitioners (P-Reps), liaisons within the 12 schools of the University, 65+ trained campus partners and the Steering Committees. Maintaining and developing these relationships is critical to RP@P’s mission.
The Restorative Practices Facilitation Specialist (RPS) will support the continued development of the RP@P program and supplement the work of the Restorative Facilitation Lead in the areas of RJ facilitation for CSA cases and Title IX cases, and especially in proactive community building Circles with a focus on addressing the impact of global and national harms on members of the Penn community. These duties include personally facilitating conferences and circles, coordinating volunteer facilitators, scheduling conferences and pre-conference meetings, and managing all relevant data and records. The RP specialist will play an integral role in supporting faculty development in RP and in creating support spaces for faculty and staff, particularly around racial harm, and other bias related harms. The RPS will also support relevant trainings and workshops and develop relevant protocols and templates. The RPS will report directly to the Restorative Facilitation Lead.Job Description

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3-5 years of experience preferred. Direct experience with restorative practices, circles, restorative conferences, conflict resolution and mediation strongly preferred. Experience as a facilitator strongly preferred. Demonstrated strong people skills, organizational skills, and ability to work on a team; a general understanding of higher education policies and practices preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
