Job Description Summary
A Research Specialist is sought to execute human translational projects /studies and clinical research in the field of liver/kidney transplantation, using a variety of techniques. The position is expected to be on-call for clinical transplantation studies, responsible for collecting and processing human blood, urine and tissue samples. Routine outpatient visit specimen collection and processing are also expected. The specialist will also be responsible for management of clinical sample database using variety of software, specimen shipment domestically and internationally, maintenance of laboratory equipment/freezers, ordering of lab supplies (including obtaining quotes from sales representatives and selection of optimally priced laboratory reagents), and overall lab management. This position will require independence and excellent organizational and communication skills as the specialist will largely work independently from the supervisor. Candidates with medicine/biology background and training in cellular & molecular biology are preferred. P.S. Responsibilities may change over time based on the research project needs.
Research Specialist C will have increased responsibilities including increased independence and decision making.
Position is contingent upon continued grant funding.

B: Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
C: Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
