Job Responsibilities
The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator A (CRC-A) to support and coordinate a community-based approach to engaging the West, South, and Southwest Philadelphia communities in research to understand the causes of racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes related to eczema (atopic dermatitis) – a common skin disease – in a study called ADDS-UP3 (Atopic Dermatitis Disparities Study – University of Pennsylvania / Philadelphia Partnership). The CRC-A will perform a mix of duties including leading, organizing, and participating in community outreach via door-to-door canvassing, community events, and Family Medicine clinics to: (i) provide education on the value and importance of research participation among populations that have been historically excluded from research studies, (ii) describe the study and obtain informed consent from study participants, (iii) share information about educational events about eczema and resources for additional information about and health care for eczema, and (iv) assist with data collection from study participants in order to guide future initiatives to eliminate existing disparities in eczema outcomes and care. The CRC-A will work with the study investigators, other research coordinators, canvassing team, and community partners to manage timelines, schedule trainings, organize/track program participation, and support recruitment efforts.
The position is contingent upon grant funding.
