Programs are designed and, often co-created, with community partners and academic departments, and these programs include Culture Fests, large family day events featuring cultural traditions represented in the collection, lecture series, film programs, Deep Dig educational courses, and summer music series. Reporting to the Associate Director of Public Engagement, the Public Programs Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of public engagement programs. The role includes coordinating the logistics associated with the public programs such as creating speaker contracts, ordering supplies, communicating schedules with key internal stakeholders. The Public Programs Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the set-up for programs and events including the lecture series, CultureFest, Seeds of Change, Garden Jams, Culture Films, other landmark programs, and individual programs and events. This position oversees the scheduling of space, making travel arrangements, overseeing event registration, and event-specific volunteers for public programs and events, including organizing and maintaining departmental files and reports.
