Job Description Summary
Responsible for both strategic planning and day to day management of complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to University. Take leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal.
Job Description
The Division of Health Policy is seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager B (PM-B) to be responsible for the day-to-day research operations for a new program in which we plan to test the effects of utilizing behavioral economic principles to increase healthy food purchasing behavior among an urban population at high-risk of ASCVD and food insecurity across Penn Medicine. The PM-B will be responsible for oversight of all grant activities for this study including management of day-to-day research activities, IRB and regulatory requirements and the training and supervision of research staff. The PM-B will be responsible for managing and tracking study budgets as well as managing the timely submission of grant reporting to the sponsors. The PM-B will meet regularly with study leadership (internal and external) to provide study updates but will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. The role will include oversight of participant enrollment, execution of the study protocol, as well as frequent contact with external collaborators to manage the execution of agreements and subcontracts and for ongoing study collaboration. The PM-B will mentor/train less experienced research staff (i.e. clinical research coordinators, medical students, etc.) in the completion of their duties as required. This role may be expected to manage a more significant portfolio of projects in the future.

Qualifications
Project Manager B: A Master’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required in a research or health-related field. The successful candidate will be extremely well organized and resourceful. A comfort with innovative new technologies, and study devices preferred. The project manager must thrive in multi-tasking environments, and be a self-starter with a results orientation. Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint is required. Understanding of regulatory compliance issues required. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. High accuracy, dependability, and attention to detail will be vital to success in the position. Interest in nutrition research, digital innovations, behavioral economics, and/or health services research strongly preferred. The project manager should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role will require working with multiple internal and external partners.
