Job Description Summary
The Department of Neurology is seeking a Grant Manager A/B to oversee a grant portfolio between $7 to $12 million annually(will be determined based on experience level). Under limited supervision, responsible for the overall financial management of an assigned grant portfolio and other financial matters of the department and school. This position will primarily handle post-award activity but is expected to be knowledgeable about pre-award and act as backup during heavy deadlines. Manage post award activities including account set up, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and meet with principal investigators to discuss and advice on any financial issues related to their portfolio. Collaborate with all members of team including colleagues in OCR, ORSS, ORS and PSOM finance, as well as internal department colleagues. Contribute to policy and SOP creation.
Job Description
The Grants Manager A/B will report to the Associate Director of Research Operations with dotted line reporting to the Office of Research Support Services. Under limited supervision, this position will manage post award activities including account set up, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise on any financial issues related to their portfolio. Collaborate with all members of team including colleagues in OCR, ORSS, ORS and PSOM finance, as well as internal department colleagues. Contribute to policy and SOP creation. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance. Work with HR/payroll to ensure faculty and staff are paid correctly. Create, manage and track subcontracts in RIS and follow-up through execution.
Grant Manager A: The Grant Manager A will manage a smaller portfolio as well as less complicated awards, and work more closely with supervisor and other leadership to gain further experience.
Grants Manager B: The Grants Manager B will work more independently and oversee more complicated program projects as well as a larger overall portfolio. They will also assist with training of coordinators and contribute more to departmental financial analysis as well as development of policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Grants Manager A: Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Grants Manager B: Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
