Contract Administrator Senior
The Contract Administrator Senior is responsible for delivering the following outcomes to enable rapid activation of clinical trials in accordance with Perelman School of Medicine and Penn policy:

2. Review, negotiation, and conclusion of task orders under master clinical trial agreements under the direction of a more senior member of the group;
3. Review of amendments to clinical research agreements under the direction of a more senior member of the group;
4. Finalization of research agreements including securing signatures, initiating the account setup process, and related stakeholder communications;
Also, each employee in this role is expected to provide assistance and support within OCR, and to stakeholders in the PSOM, other offices within Penn’s research administration function, and sponsors regarding issues associated with corporate clinical trial agreements and funding sources, under the direction of a more senior member of the group, as needed; be conversant with PSOM and Penn research administration systems and processes, including electronic research administration systems (e.g., SOMERA, Penn ERA and the Research Inventory System); and be sufficiently knowledgeable about the responsibilities of other members of OCR Legal so as to be able to serve as backup in times of fluctuating demand for support.
Responsibilities
Review, negotiation, and conclusion of confidentiality agreements for clinical research activities including negotiation of appropriate protections for faculty and Penn and avoidance of burdensome overly broad obligations.
Review, negotiation, and conclusion of task orders under master clinical trial agreements, including ensuring appropriate formats are utilized, identification of any deviations from historically accepted formats and negotiation of any necessary change.
Review of amendments to clinical research agreements for accuracy, consistency with PSOM/Penn policy and original agreement: negotiation with corporate sponsors regarding any necessary changes.
Review, negotiation, and conclusion of basic sub awards or non-monetary agreements, including ensuring appropriate formats are utilized, identification of any deviations from historically accepted language and formats and negotiation of any necessary change.
Provide assistance and support within OCR, and to stakeholders in the PSOM; perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree preferred plus a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training; In lieu of undergraduate degree 5-7 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training.

Targeted Pay Range: $67,000- $77,000
